The rivalry between the West Midland teams is greater than that between Arsenal and Tottenham, according to Deeney on White & Jordan.

In the same appearance, he did, however, acknowledge that he might have played for both teams despite previously acknowledging that, while at Watford in January 2020, he attempted to fight Villa players after a 2-1 loss.

Deeney was raised six miles from St Andrew’s, despite being born in Birmingham, and he even had the club’s crest permanently inked on his leg.

He later played for the Blues from 2021 to 2023, but Villa had approached him earlier, and his body ink had proven to be a point of contention.

The most memorable memories of Deeney are from his twelve seasons, six of which he played in the Premier League, at Watford.

After he scored more than 20 goals in the Championship with the Hornets in 2013, Villa expressed interest.

Aston Villa vs. Birmingham City is a larger rivalry than Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur, according to Troy Deeney, shocking Simon Jordan.
The forward joked that if he had moved, it would have been hard to see his family, who are from Birmingham, but it would not have been possible because of the concept of covering or removing his tattoo.

“No, I wouldn’t have [had it removed], which is why it didn’t get too far,” Deeney continued.

“My entire family supports Birmingham City, with the exception of my brother, who strangely chose to go against the flow. My best friend is a devoted fan of Birmingham City.

“It would have been challenging to live there and visit the family if I had spent a few months playing for Aston Villa.

“I’m sure they would have got over it afterwards”

We don’t know if they would have Troy.
