Ange Postecoglou, according to Gold, is attempting to implement one significant change at Tottenham that will have long-term effects

Alasdair Gold feels that Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, is attempting, through his recent remarks, to alter the club’s entire philosophy.

Spurs’ winning streak in the Premier League came to an abrupt end on Saturday when they lost 3-0 to Fulham, who are currently in 12th place.

The North London team wanted to move up to fourth position, above Aston Villa, with a victory at Craven Cottage. However, they collapsed to an away loss after failing to capitalize on their thrilling 4-0 victory over Villa.

Postecoglou was questioned following the match regarding the importance of the defeat and its possible effects on Tottenham’s chances of finishing in the top 4.

He shot against the idea that coming in fourth place was his ultimate objective in reply. Rather, the Australian manager made it apparent that he has higher goals for the team than just placing them in the top four.

It wasn’t the first time he downplayed the significance of finishing in the top 4. Approximately a week before, he asserted the same thing, focusing more on long-term success and ongoing development than on immediate results.

And according to Alasdair Gold, Ange is attempting to change the club’s overall mindset by making these remarks.

Speaking on YouTube (via Last Word On Spurs), Gold asserted that Postecoglou is trying to instill a league competing mentality in the North London team by focusing on a bigger picture.

The manager is determined to instill a winning mindset in Spurs so that they can fight for the title beginning in the following season, rather than settling for a top-four result.

Says TBH

Postecoglou is assembling a team that is capable of contending for the championship, and Tottenham’s recent transfer activity points to that possibility.

Spurs had a fantastic start to the season, but their recent performance has been patchy. However, there are encouraging indications that the Australian is leading the team in the right path.
