Three Tottenham players are identified and shamed in the ‘arrogant’ Fulham defeat, as Son launches diatribe against teammates

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp condemned his former club’s ‘arrogant’ performance in a 3-0 defeat at Fulham, naming and shaming three individuals in particular.

Spurs headed into Saturday night’s game after a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa the previous weekend, knowing that a win at Craven Cottage would propel them into the top four ahead of Unai Emery’s side.

With the top five teams appearing increasingly likely to qualify for the Champions League next season, a win would have moved them nine points ahead of sixth-placed Manchester United with ten games remaining.

Instead, Tottenham were thrashed by Fulham, with Brazilian sensation Muniz scoring twice either side of Sasa Lukic’s debut goal for the club.

And Sky Sports commentator Redknapp was left startled by the lack of intensity in the performance, with Destiny Udogie, James Maddison, and Yves Bissouma all picking up criticism.

“When I’ve watched Tottenham this season there has been so much joy in their play,” Redknapp was quoted as saying.

“I thought those types of performances were a thing of the past; I didn’t think we’d see them again under Ange Postecoglou.”

“They were off it from the beginning. I’m looking for excuses. Yes, Van de Ven’s absence is significant because he is such an important player, but past games have gone smoothly without him.

“There was a weariness about their play, no energy. There were players who had outstanding games, such as Destiny Udogie, but he was completely off today. Yves Bissouma in midfield, James Maddison—they never got a grasp on it and won their individual skirmishes.

“I almost wish the manager would say there was a sickness in the camp or something because I can’t believe what I witnessed in terms of their intensity. Following their performance against Villa last week, they dominated the second half.

“But they approached this game with arrogance. That we will show up, play, and win convincingly. The Premier League is not like that. This could be the caution he needs.

“Ange never criticizes his players, but if I were him, I’d be fuming in that locker room, pointing fingers and saying, ‘If you think that’s good enough to make the top four, we might not even make the top five.'” They need to get rolling again. It was so uncommon.

Emotional Son takes Tottenham teammates to task.

Meanwhile, skipper Son Heung-min did not hold back in delivering his own opinion on the performance.

Following the incident, the obviously unhappy South Korean star told Sky Sports: “It is terrible, and it was unacceptable for me as well.

“Everyone must look in the mirror and admit, ‘It is my fault.'”

“It wasn’t good enough.” We did not put forth the same amount of work as we did this season. The performance and attitude were not satisfactory.

“Everyone has to make a big wake-up call.”

“all was not even close to what we’ve been accomplishing all season. It’s incredibly sad to watch this. “The fans do not deserve this.”
