Club looking to bring Manchester City man back – But move may be about club politics

The team wants to bring the Manchester City player back, but club politics may be at play.

Glenn van der Kraan, the Manchester City coach, is someone Feyenoord is thinking about bringing in order to build talent for the team’s future.

Algemeen Dagblad, who covers the Dutch team today and the possible club rebuild that would result in Van der Kraan’s return, claims as much.

According to the newspaper, Feyenoord will have a busy summer ahead of them. Clubs will likely be looking to upgrade their roster and make behind-the-scenes changes as well.

Rini Coolen, the head of training, is scheduled to leave, and although there are staff members who may take her place, they are not being considered.

Sjaak Troost, a member of the club’s supervisory board, has reportedly been pushing for Van der Kraan to come back instead, “according to insiders.”

He joined Manchester City from Feyenoord in 2020 after spending several years with the Dutch team, and he is currently working with the youth.

But the question is whether or not he is the target of the right attacks. According to AD, a move that is “based on his qualities” is definitely appropriate; yet, if the move is being made to “satisfy a certain camp” at the club, it is not appropriate at all.

Stated differently, they ought to go straight for the Manchester City coach if they think Van der Kraan is the greatest candidate for the position. The opposite is true if it has to do with politics.

In any case, it appears that the notion of having him return from the Etihad is being discussed in advance of a busy summer filled with change.
