The difference between the entertainment delivered to Tottenham fans by Ange Postecoglou and Antonio Conte is night and day

Last season, Spurs were seeing their team deteriorate and preparing to finish outside of Europe entirely.

Before his dismissal at the end of March, Antonio Conte brought in attack-minded fullback Pedro Porro.

The 24-year-old has progressed from a defensive-minded wing-back camped in his own half to one who plays like a number ten.

Former player Scott Parker described it as’very unique’, noting that even teams like Manchester City and Arsenal do not do this, in an interview with Premier League Productions.

This was demonstrated over the weekend when Tottenham defeated 10-man Aston Villa 4-0 in a Champions League match.

The club made a real statement of purpose, with Pedro Porro playing a key role in this all-action, attack-minded Tottenham outfit, which boosted their top-four aspirations.

“It’s a common theme,” Parker explained. “We’ve seen it a little bit with Manchester City and Arsenal, when fullbacks are brought inside the pitch as double pivots.

“Now you see these fullbacks; what Tottenham is doing is placing fullbacks on the top line.

“This is Porro, coming in from an attacking midfield position and running the top line. He wants to get in behind. “This is extremely unusual.”

Pedro Porro’s attacking abilities

It’s fitting that Postecoglou is in charge of a player like Porro, as the two complement one other perfectly.

The Spain international performs best when he is driving forward and can ping passes at will. Forget about what’s behind you; focus on what’s ahead.

He also has a wicked strike, as evidenced by his recent FA Cup performance. Don’t be surprised if he scores big goals for Tottenham.

Porro’s first six months at Hotspur Way were not ideal, but things are beginning to turn around.
