‘I don’t understand’: Carragher blasts Spurs supporters who humiliate the 30-year-old

Jamie Carragher has confessed that he feels terrible for Harry Kane, given the amount of abuse he receives despite constantly producing world-class performances.

As expected of Kane when he joined Bayern Munich in the summer, the striker is on track to enjoy a record-breaking season in the Bundesliga.

The 30-year-old has already scored 33 goals and assisted nine times this season, and he appears to be on track to finish with more than 50 goal contributions.

However, things have not gone as planned for Bayern, and the club is now in danger of missing out on the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years.

While Thomas Tuchel’s team is currently performing well in the Champions League, having advanced to the quarterfinals, they will need a miracle to win the league, as Bayer Leverkusen leads by ten points.

Harry Kane deserves nothing but admiration from Spurs supporters.

Many people on social media, even Spurs fans, have mocked Kane over the likelihood of another trophy-less season, but Carragher has stated that he doesn’t understand why the striker receives so much criticism.

The expert told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (05/03/24 at 7:20 pm): “I feel for him because he’s been Bayern Munich’s best player.” There is usually criticism or laughter directed at him because he never won a title at Tottenham.

“He goes to Bayern Munich, who are serial champions, and he fails to win a trophy. I don’t get the ridicule. This is one of the best strikers in world football, and we should be proud that one of our players has moved to the Bundesliga, one of the world’s biggest teams, and is having one of the best seasons we’ve seen from an English player playing abroad.

“People mock him, including Spurs fans, who should be delighted that one of their players plays for one of the world’s biggest clubs after coming through their system.

“Yes, they will not win a trophy, but next season, I am confident that Bayern Munich will win the league and he will conclude with trophies. So, I don’t get the scorn. “He is one of the world’s best players, and I adore him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

While I appreciate Spurs fans’ disinterest in Kane’s fortunes now that he has left the club, I am disappointed to see so many Spurs fans openly enjoying the striker’s misfortunes.

Throughout his time at N17, the 30-year-old was a model professional who demonstrated unwavering dedication to the organization. He even chose to travel abroad last summer instead of running down his contract and joining a rival. He is Tottenham’s greatest modern-day legend and deserves nothing but admiration.
