Udogie gives a seven-word Tottenham response to McGinn’s terrible tackle

Destiny Udogie sends a message to Tottenham after being sent off for a terrible tackle by John McGinn in their 4-0 win over Aston Villa. The Lilywhites were two goals ahead when the Scotland international charged into a dangerous challenge on Udogie, leaving him on the ground.

Given how deadly the foul was, a number of Tottenham players confronted McGinn before Chris Kavanagh issued him the red card. With Ange Postecoglou’s team having the man advantage, Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson scored the next two goals.

Despite Spurs dominating the game following McGinn’s early exit, Postecoglou did not believe the event had a significant impact on the final result. “I don’t think it was a key moment,” he said in a press conference. “We were in control.”

“Obviously, it made things simpler, but it was simply a result of the pressure we were putting on them. I don’t believe it was a malevolent one by John.” Udogie appeared to be about to face McGinn after the foul, but he instead collapsed to the ground due to his inability to bear much weight on his wounded leg.

Udogie was able to continue and contribute to the massive victory; however, he did take to social media following the game. He titled his Instagram photo, which included a montage of images, “Taking control.” Remaining concentrated. “Doing my job.”

Following Micky van de Ven’s injury, Udogie was tasked with easing substitute Radu Dragusin into the game, and the Romania international performed admirably despite receiving a yellow card. Following the triumph, Postecoglou expressed his opinion on the seriousness of van de Ven’s injury before discussing Dragusin’s appearance.

“I’m not sure, he doesn’t think it’s anything too significant,” he remarked when asked if the Netherlands international was fine following his early exit.

“It was very disheartening for him because he had been terrific up to that point. It was great for Radu to come in and play his first meaningful game time in a big game, and I thought he handled it very well.”
