When Ipswich loses to Cardiff, Joe Rodon’s brother responds on social media with three words

Sam, Joe Rodon’s brother, perfectly captured the emotions that many Leeds United supporters will be experiencing this afternoon when he saw Cardiff City come back from a deficit to defeat Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Leeds’ 2-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night sent a message to the Championship’s automatic-promotion chasers. With two points less than Leicester City, the outcome moved Daniel Farke’s team back above Ipswich Town and into second position.

The Tractor Boys needed to win against Cardiff in order to reclaim second place. And it seemed they would achieve the outcome they required as stoppage time approached at the end of the second half.

In South Wales, Kieffer Moore had given the visitors the lead by hitting a hard shot into the bottom corner against his old team.

Before falling behind, the Bluebirds had not played with any urgency in the second half. But they came to life because of the objective. And in the ninetieth minute, they equalized.

Already, Leeds supporters would have accepted the outcome. However, there was going to be one last surprise when Callum O’Dowda scored a close-range goal in the 100th minute.

The home supporters inside the stadium went crazy. And with the automatic-promotion race back in our hands, it would have seemed like so many of us.

Sam Rodon, who is, of course, the brother of loanee and former Swansea City player Joe Rodon, is someone we have welcomed into the fandom during the past year. And he was one among the people who took to X to make remarks following Cardiff’s victory.

once more under Leeds’s control

It is premature to consider a promotion. Previous years have shown us that there will be many more twists and turns before the top two are selected. In actuality, before the campaign is over, all four teams are probably going to lose.

But acquiring Joe Rodon needs to be a top priority for Leeds if they are successful in getting promoted. Rodon made a suggestion that he wanted to stay.

It’s also obvious that people close to the center back want to see the Whites cross the finish line.
