“Leave”: After he was linked to a move to Tottenham, furious fans turned against the £40 million player

After his January links with the OGC Nice No. 6, Tottenham supporters might recognize Jean-Clair Todibo.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs first discussed a deal for the defender with the Ligue 1 team in January before deciding to sign Radu Dragusin.

Tottenham may still try to recruit the France international this summer, though, according to 90min.

Following his connections to Tottenham, Jean-Clair Todibo has experienced an intriguing development.

Admirers switch on Jean-Clair Todibo

Well, Friday night in Nice turned a little unpleasant.

OGC Nice’s poor start came in the 10th minute when Todibo scored an own goal, sending the French team into a 2-1 loss to Montpellier, who were ranked in 12th position.

After the 90 minutes were over, tensions erupted inside the Allianz Riviera as supporters yelled, “if you’re not happy, leave the club,” directed at the Tottenham target, according to the Daily Mail.

When Todibo hinted at a departure last month, saying, “I’ll wait until the summer to make my decision,” he may have infuriated fans. We’re not there yet, but if I decide to stay, I’ll let everyone know and thank them. If I decide to go, I’ll do the same.

Fans of OGC Nice are obviously not thrilled with the 24-year-old, and they probably think he shouldn’t be discussing a possible transfer while his team isn’t performing well.

Tottenham disclosed the cost.

Spurs will still need to shell out a sizable sum of money to sign Todibo this summer, regardless of his altercation with supporters.

Manchester United is reportedly interested in purchasing the central defender from OGC Nice for £40 million, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Along with Pedro Porro and Cristian Romero, it would make Todibo one of the most expensive defenders in Tottenham history. However, if he keeps running into problems with the fans, his asking price of £40 million may come down by the summer.
