I’m positive. Leeds United has a 20-year-old player who the supporters will adore, according to Ilia Gruev

More than anybody else at Leeds United, Ilia Gruev is aware of the virtue of patience.

Gruev only started two of Leeds’ first 26 Championship games, but ten straight league starts have seen him establish himself as an essential member of the team.

Some marginal players have emerged in the second part of the season, such as Gruev, Patrick Bamford, and Junior Firpo, but one guy is still itching for more chances.

It’s Mateo Joseph, that dude. Joseph was extremely impressive again from the bench against Stoke City on Tuesday night, following his two goals for the team against Chelsea in the FA Cup last week.

Although Joseph has not yet had a single league start for the team, Gruev told the Yorkshire Evening Post that the 20-year-old is constantly putting in a lot of effort and that he will soon win over the fans.

Gruev suggests Joseph to become a popular favorite.

He said, “What a great guy.” He’s working so hard for us at the gym; I see him there every time. I believe that if you put in the same amount of effort and possess the same kind of quality as him, you should be entitled to more minutes.

“I believe that everyone witnessed his exceptional play against Chelsea, as he scored two goals and had a fantastic game. Being a young athlete, he needs to keep pushing himself and training hard. And if he continues in this manner, I have no doubt that the fans will like him and that he will receive plenty of playing time.

FBL, ENG, FACUP, Chelsea, and Leeds

Supporters are undoubtedly becoming more and more excited about Joseph’s potential, and Daniel Farke hinted yesterday that a start won’t be far off if he keeps up his current performance.

Joseph, who was so unlucky not to score his first league goal, altered the game against Stoke from the bench. His energy and hold-up play helped Leeds regain some semblance of control.

Joseph is unfazed by the competitive environment surrounding the promotion race, and perhaps he will receive a start before the season ends.
