F1 live: Christian Horner will comment on Max Verstappen’s decision to side with his father in the Red Bull rivalry

Less than a week after the problems were widespread in Bahrain, the Formula 1 scandal involving Christian Horner moves to Saudi Arabia.

An internal investigation last week cleared the Red Bull team principal after he was accused of engaging in “inappropriate behavior.” Jos Verstappen, Max’s father, has claimed that the problem threatens to split the team, and hacked text conversations purportedly implicating the team manager have kept the subject front and center.

The FIA president has apparently urged Max to openly support Horner, but Max has remained loyal to his father. Red Bull started the season on a high note last weekend with a 1-2, but concerns about their team principal still exist.

We will provide you with updates during the day.

Jos goes after Horner.

The concern that the squad may be “torn apart” hasn’t stopped Jos Verstappen from criticizing Christian Horner.

“There is tension here as [Horner] holds his position,” he stated. There’s a chance the team will fall apart. Things cannot continue as they are. It’s going to blow up. Even though he is the one creating the issues, he is acting the victim.”

Following Jos Verstappen’s assertion that Red Bull would “explode” if Christian Horner stayed in charge, Max Verstappen insists that his father is “not a liar”.

Regarding his father, Verstappen stated: “He is not a liar and was always very outspoken.” Indeed, it is true. That’s all I have to say about things from my perspective.”

Prior to texts purportedly exchanged between Christian Horner and a female colleague being made public last Wednesday, Horner was exonerated following an internal probe.

Horner spent the entire weekend rejecting any conjecture.

“Obviously, the unwanted attention hasn’t been pleasant,” he remarked. However, the automobiles are now the main attraction. My attention has been primarily focused on the current course of events, and I believe that today’s outcome highlights the team’s direction as we proceed forward.
