Due to Victor Osimhen’s release clause, Chelsea faces fresh transfer “difficulties

According to reports, Chelsea is prepared to compete with Paris Saint-Germain to acquire Victor Osimhen.

Over the past 12 months, there have been numerous rumors that the Napoli striker may leave the Serie A team. Even though Osimhen has made 22 appearances for Napoli this season and scored 13 goals, the major clubs in Europe were drawn to him because of his performance the previous year.

Osimhen helped Napoli win their first Serie A championship since 1990 by scoring 31 goals in 39 games. Now that Chelsea is interested in bringing Osimhen to Stamford Bridge, it is more likely than ever that the striker will depart the Italian team this summer.

Football and a summer transfer for a new striker are the Blues’ top priorities.London is aware that Osimhen is the club’s top choice when it comes to available players. Gianluca Di Marzio, a journalist, claims that Osimhen wants to leave Napoli this summer and that a number of teams are interested in signing him. One team that is probably going to be in the lead while looking to replace Kylian Mbappe is PSG.

The Nigerian international’s interest in joining with Chelsea is also reported. It has been mentioned, though, that the Blues might struggle to close a deal because they won’t have Champions League football to give Osimhen.

“PSG was a natural step for him [Osimhen] because he is the natural successor to Kylian Mbappe,” Di Marzio stated to Goal.pl.

“He has an excellent relationship with Napoli, and PSG will stop at nothing to sign him. Though there is no guarantee that it will travel there, this is the way that it naturally tends to go.

“Premier League clubs will also try to get him, but he wants to play in the Champions League,” said Di Marzio. “That’s why it may be difficult for Chelsea to sign him, even though they wanted him last summer and in January.”

Di Marzio continued by saying that Osimhen’s contract contains a release clause valued at between €130 million (£111 million) and 140 million (£120 million). When Chelsea enters the summer transfer window, they will be aware of the Financial Fair Play, Profit, and Sustainability Rules. It is unclear if the club will be able to afford to spend more than £100 million on a single player.
