Chris Sutton forecasts who will finish in the top four for Aston Villa vs. Spurs

Chris Sutton believes that Aston Villa, his old team, will surpass Tottenham Hotspur this season and place fourth.

With the two teams competing for the final guaranteed Champions League position, Sunday’s matchup between Tottenham and Villa Park is perhaps the biggest of the season for both teams.

Sunday’s matchup is a six-pointer because Man Utd has lost ground following back-to-back defeats; Unai Emery’s team leads by five points, but Spurs still have a game remaining.

The West Midlands team has a lot of work ahead of them, especially with the challenging games they have left before the season ends. A victory would see them open up a sizable lead over Tottenham.

Sutton thinks Villa, who have been playing well lately and are a strong team at home, will have enough to defeat Spurs in the race.

“Villa are in the box seat, aren’t they?” the commentator questioned BBC 606 in response to a question about who will place fourth. Villa, I believe, will win. They are the largest team in Birmingham and my former squad.

Spurs Views

If Tottenham loses on Sunday, Villa will take the lead, thus they must at least draw from the match. But we are aware that Ange Postecoglou will position his squad to attempt and control the game at Villa Park and win all three points.
