Leeds United defeated Stoke City 1-0 at Elland Road Friday night to get back on the winning track.
Leeds needed to win against Stoke to resume their winning streak after it ended at Huddersfield Town on Saturday, and they succeeded in doing so with a valiant effort.
The solitary goal separating the two teams came from a deflected goal by Dan James in the 33rd minute. Leeds had to exert some pressure after the interval to secure the three points.
Nevertheless, Leeds had a chance to go ahead more quickly in the first half, with Connor Roberts and James providing the majority of the threat down that right-hand side.
Pundit Lee Hendrie praised James’ mobility as “absolutely excellent” during the game on Sky Sports, stating that he was the most threat moving forward.

“He’s caused so many problems,” he declared. He has exhibited flawless mobility. He performs admirably here; all he needs is a little encouragement from Kamara. He makes an inside cut, swings back to his right, and deviates slightly en route to the goal.
Given the influence James had, Daniel Farke made a wise choice in starting him for the first time in more than a month following his injury recovery.

James stated last week that he believes he is playing the best football of his career, and it is evident from his performance to return to the squad and play that way after missing some time.
It’s safe to say that Farke appeared out of his feet at the finish, so he will have to decide on Friday between James and Willy Gnonto for the right spot.
