“Perfect”… Daniel Farke claims that Leeds United’s pair played a crucial role in their victory over Stoke City last night

Daniel Farke has commented on Leeds United’s victory over Stoke City, which ended in a 1-0 victory.

Under the lights at Elland Road, it was a normal midweek matchup between the 22nd-placed team in the Championship and the Whites, who had to battle hard for their three points.

Dan James’ deflected goal in the first half separated the two teams that evening, but the triumph ultimately came down to the effort on the opposite end.

Leeds’ defense has undoubtedly been the cornerstone of their recent success; with eight clean sheets in their previous 11 games, they have not let up a goal through open play.

During the post-game news conference, Farke praised the performances of backup duo Liam Cooper and Charlie Cresswell while reserving special praise for Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu.

Farke commends Leeds’ possibilities at center back.

That’s the crucial part, he remarked. I never saw Rodon and Ampadu or Cooper, Cresswell, lose a duel, therefore they truly deserve all the accolades. They are quite accurate.

Since playing side by side, Ampadu and Rodon have developed a strong defensive tandem, and it’s obvious that the two Wales internationals love their time together.

While Ampadu has performed admirably in relief of the injured Pascal Struijk from the start of the season, his best position is unquestionably in midfield, Rodon has been outstanding throughout the season at center back.

This season, Leeds have been had to absorb pressure on several times, especially during the week, and Ampadu and Rodon were able to handle the majority of the pressure Stoke placed at them.

It won’t be forgotten how wonderfully Ampadu filled in for Struijk when he eventually returns from injury, but Struijk should take his rightful place in central defense.
