“Did not participate”… Local media attacks Leeds loanee, who receives a 4/10 rating after taking on a new role

Tuesday night, Plymouth Argyle lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday, with Ian Poveda defeating both Adam Forshaw and Darko Gyabi. The latter has been criticized by the local media.

The Sheffield Star commended Poveda for his performance in the match between the two Leeds loanees, even if he had a goal disallowed. Naturally, Poveda is anticipated to depart Leeds permanently at the end of the current campaign.

Gyabi, on the other hand, is still bound to Leeds through the summer of 2026 and will make his way back to Elland Road at the conclusion of the current campaign. But for now, his long-term future at Leeds is still uncertain.

He has played all but one of the Championship games since joining Plymouth on loan in January; the outlier being against Leeds on February 17. But he was assigned to a different position to play on Tuesday night.

The England U20 star was employed in the left-sided no. 10 position, naturally a no. 6 or no. 8, in center midfield with Plymouth playing a 3-4-2-1, with two 10s behind Ryan Hardie, the striker. But things didn’t go as planned.

Leeds player Darko Gyabi received criticism following Plymouth’s Tuesday loss.

After he left to join Middlesbrough in January after making a big impact for Argyle in the first half of the season, Finn Azaz is being replaced by someone else at Plymouth. However, Gyabi made no difference at all.

Gyabi became addicted on the 70th minute of Poveda’s Wednesday 1-0 victory. The £5 million Leeds player received a 4/10 from Plymouth Live, who said he “did not contribute enough” to the match on Tuesday night.

“One soft shot was easily saved and did not provide enough attacking output from the left number 10 position, which has been hard to fill since Finn Azaz left at the beginning of January.”
