This season, Tottenham Hotspur has been an absolute pleasure to watch, and they’re delivering on their promises as well. With a game left to play, the team is presently five points behind Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou has had an outstanding start to his career at Spurs, and the team has already embraced his ideology.

Following his arrival, the hiring process has been flawless, with Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson, and James Maddison all fitting into the Australian system flawlessly.

But since being transferred to north London, there is one player in particular who might not have received as much attention.

How much Spurs spent on Manor Soloman

Manor Soloman, who spent the season at Fulham after joining from Shakhtar Donetsk, joined the Premier League last summer and has already shown he is a formidable opponent in England.

The winger scored four goals in just four starts for the Cottagers, averaging thirty-one minutes per game. Spurs signed him for a nominal fee, so it was a no-brainer.

The Ukrainian club released the talented 24-year-old on a free transfer this summer, and with Harry Kane departing and Heung-Min Son taking on a false nine role, it looked that the team needed inexpensive left-wing backup.

It was a steal to sign the young winger for free because he has already demonstrated a lot of promise in the top division.

The valuation of Manor Soloman in 2024

Pacy winger Soloman can be effective in the last part of the game; Jamie Redknapp calls him a “pocket rocket.”

The former Fulham player has had a great start to life at Spurs. In his debut Premier League appearance, he recorded five crucial passes and two assists against Burnley, helping the team win 5-2.

The five-foot-seven forward was involved in three more games for Postecoglou before suffering a meniscus injury that sidelined him for the remainder of October. This indicates that he has already missed 22 games and counting.

It is logical to assume that the former Shakhtar star’s worth would be far higher than what it is now, £15.4m according to Transfermarkt, had he sustained this terrible injury and his career proceeded along the same trajectory as earlier in the season.

The Market Value of Soloman Over Time

December 2023

June of 2023

Despite his time out, Soloman’s worth has remained remarkably stable over the past three years, suggesting that it is unlikely to decline any more. It’s interesting to note that the Israeli striker is currently valued £1 million more than Timo Werner, the club’s January acquisition who scored his first goal this past weekend against Crystal Palace.

It’s amazing that Spurs were able to sign someone with such high value for just £0, and given that they have a contract that will expire in 2028, the 24-year-old is definitely a steal for the Lilywhites.

Although the Spurs supporters haven’t seen the best of Soloman yet and he’s almost forgotten about him, he will undoubtedly make an impression when he returns.
