Mathys Tel, a winger for Bayern Munich, made an incredible start to 2023–24 under head coach Thomas Tuchel as a super-sub, but he has had a difficult second half of the season.

Although Tuchel hasn’t been a fan of Tel lately, he is leaving. Additionally, it seems that Tel’s commitment to the Bavarians was reiterated during a meeting between his representatives and the Bayern managers.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer journalist, has the exclusive:

The Bayern Munich club stated on Monday that Mathys Tel will remain there after meeting with his agent.

Romano goes on:

Exclusive: Christoph Freund, the director of Bayern, met with Gadiri Camara, an agent for Mathys Tel, today.

The meeting went really well; the club confirmed their intention to retain Mathys Tel and use him in further projects.

Bayern wants Tel to stay, therefore the idea of a new deal might also come up.

Tel’s current contract expires in 2027. Tel is a highly-regarded young striker who would have plenty of options if he want to leave Bayern to get more playing time, but for the time being, Bayern supporters should relax.

Will Tel be able to replace Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane in the future?
