Eddie Howe announces a crucial Newcastle United player’s comeback against Wolves

SVEN BOTMAN is expected to start for Newcastle United against Wolves in the Premier League tomorrow.

Botman did not play in Tuesday’s FA Cup victory against Blackburn Rovers because he had trouble during the team’s weekend loss to Arsenal.

Eddie Howe decided not to include the center-half in the squad at Ewood Park because he acknowledged the player is still dealing with the affects of the knee injury that kept him out of action for three months earlier in the season.

Botman, though, is expected to return to the starting lineup when Newcastle returns to Premier League action this coming weekend, now that they are in tenth place in the standings.

Howe replied, “Sven is looking good.” We simply believed that Sven would gain more from training than from competing. He is another athlete who has recovered from a more serious injury. He has rejoined the team, but we believed that in order for him to perform at his peak again, he needed additional specialised training. However, we could clearly see him (against the Wolves).

Joe Willock and Alexander Isak should also start tomorrow after making their respective injury recoveries clean in the last two weeks.

Howe stated, “They’re getting there.” “I believe that with each game, Alex will make progress. His circumstances differ slightly from Joe’s. Since Alex has had groyne pain three times in the past, I believe it is only natural that he feels as though he lacks physical confidence in his abilities to play well in the games.

“He was looking great before his most recent injury against Aston Villa, and then all of a sudden, with no real action, he felt something again.” These two matches (against Arsenal and Blackburn), in my opinion, have been really beneficial for him in terms of giving him confidence in his physical strength. Undoubtedly, the work being done behind the scenes has been excellent, and I hope he continues to become better with each game going forward.

“Just by virtue of his extended absence, Joe is a little different. Naturally, our goal is to restore him to maximum health as soon as possible by nursing him back there. Because of how long he has been away, I believe it will take him some time to return to his very best.
