“At risk”: A Tottenham expert reveals one aspect of Ange Postecoglou that he finds “fed up” with

Former Spurs scout Bryan King believes that Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou needs to show a different side to his game and strengthen his team’s defense.

Spurs have recently failed to prevent goals from being scored; in their past four games, three of them were played at home, they have conceded seven goals.

With just one victory in their previous six games across all competitions, Postecoglou’s team will be hoping to turn things around when they visit Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, March 2.

King feels that Postecoglou needs to concentrate more on the defensive end of the Spurs’ game and less on scoring in order to achieve that.

King, in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, stated: “It’s unbelievable how poorly they defended against Wolves.”

“It’s fine moving ahead, but every Premier League team has opportunities at some point. Teams need to handle those circumstances, which is something Spurs failed to do against Wolves.

“Wolves have now triumphed over Tottenham twice in such situations. They need to be more cautious when dealing with Palace.

“I am tired of hearing about Postecoglou’s constant forward motion because in the Premier League, defense is just as important as offense.

Although the Spurs’ back four is among the best in the Premier League, they run the risk of balls being played in behind them as they press forward, which has happened several times this season when they have been in the lead.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Ange Postecoglou needs to grow from his previous errors.

There’s no getting around the truth that Spurs’ defensive efforts lately have been inadequate, Postecoglou.

They haven’t maintained a clean sheet in the Premier League since a 2-0 victory away at Nottingham Forest on Friday, December 15, nearly three months ago, and haven’t done it in any of their previous six games.

Furthermore, Spurs will be hoping to make amends against Crystal Palace on Saturday, March 2, since they haven’t maintained a clean sheet at home in the Premier League since defeating Fulham 2-0 on October 23.

Ange Postecoglou needs to enhance Tottenham’s defensive performance.

Despite their propensity for scoring goals—they have scored in each of their league games this season—they also give up goals almost as frequently, frequently depending on Guglielmo Vicario to keep them in games.

Spurs have allowed more goals than any other team in the top six of the Premier League, and they will need to rectify that statistic in the upcoming weeks if they hope to continue pushing for UEFA Champions League qualification.

According to an old proverb, defense wins championships, but assault wins games.
