Arsenal is the target of a vicious jab from Spurs hero Sheringham in front of Gunners veteran Parlour.

Teddy Sheringham, a hero from Tottenham, made a crude jab at Arsenal in front of former Gunners player Ray Parlour.

Sheringham has lived at White Hart Lane for seven years during two spells, so he is familiar with the north London split.

The former striker scored 117 goals throughout his tenure at Tottenham, and it seems he still has a strong bond with the team.

Sheringham spoke with presenters Parlour and Alan Brazil of talkSPORT Breakfast about Manchester United, another of his past teams.

Even though United was the first priority, the 57-year-old couldn’t resist taking a jab at his former rivals, with Parlour taking the brunt of it.

“I’m looking to March by the way Ray, as this is where Arsenal start going downhill,” Sheringham said as he was leaving the broadcast.

The jab caused all three of them to erupt in laughing, but Parlour put an end to the chaos by saying, “Leave off Ted!”

Sheringham was alluding to Arsenal’s post-season problems, which have hindered the team’s goals for the last two years.

Last season, the Gunners looked to be ending their nearly two decades-long Premier League title drought, but a run of three wins in their final ten games saw them lose first place to eventual winners Manchester City.

Arsenal’s problems seemed to start in March when Sporting Lisbon eliminated them from the Europa League.

Sheringham’s conversation with Gunners legend Parlour finished with him taking a subtle jab at former rivals Arsenal.

Important center defender William Saliba had a back injury that kept him out of much of the Premier League title run-in, which was another blow to Mikel Arteta’s team.

When Tottenham ruined Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four in the latter half of the 2021–2022 season, it was more of the same.

The Gunners appeared certain to make it back to the Champions League at the beginning of March, but three straight losses to Southampton, Crystal Palace, and Brighton followed a 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool.

Prior to the 2022–2023 season, Arteta’s team was relegated to Europa League football following additional losses at Tottenham and Newcastle.

With Arsenal two points behind leaders Liverpool and gaining momentum at the ideal moment, Parlour will be hoping his old team breaks the trend this time. However, they still have a difficult run of games ahead of them, including matches against Man city.
