Within seven weeks of joining Bayern Munich, Eric Dier obtains a permanent move.

The 30-year-old Eric Dier’s loan at Bayern Munich is expected to end permanently after he fulfilled his contractual terms.

Dier signed a one-year loan agreement with Bayern last month, with the Bundesliga powerhouses footing a hefty €4 million (£3.4 million) loan fee. Dier also met with Harry Kane, his former Tottenham colleague who signed a £100 million agreement to join Bayern this summer.

The option to make the transfer permanent has reportedly been activated. The defender has appeared in six games for Bayern, the most recent of which was a 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday, according to the Athletic.

According to the report, Dier’s contract with Tottenham expires in the summer of 2020, at which point Bayern will effectively register him as a free agent. Even though Bayern dropped eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the championship, the team is reportedly “pleased” with his impact.

If Xabi Alonso decides to reject Liverpool’s proposal, his long-term strategy will need to change.

Dier declared, “This move is a dream come true for me,” after becoming a member of the club. since your childhood dream is to play for a team like Bayern Munich someday. Bayern has an amazing history and is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“I want to use my defensive versatility to benefit the team. I consider the Allianz Arena to be among the top stadiums in the world, and I’m definitely looking forward to my new colleagues and the supporters there.”

The England international has also pleased Bayern veteran Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Earlier this month, Rummenigge said to Allgemeine Zeitung (via Sport Witness) that “Eric Dier surprised me a little, to be honest.”

Although he hasn’t had much opportunity to practice in matches this season at Tottenham, he has shown well in every game that he has played for us thus far and is a fantastic defensive option. He possesses strength in his body, mental toughness, tactical cunning, and an excellent passing game pushing forward. It also doesn’t hurt that he gets along well with Harry Kane.”

Bayern’s next game is against Freiburg tomorrow night. On Tuesday, they play Lazio in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 match. Due to a penalty kick by Ciro Immobile, Thomas Tuchel’s team lost the first leg 1-0. They are hoping to avoid losing in the round of 16 for the first time since 2019.
