With Pedro Porro out, Ange Postecoglou called up 21-year-old Tottenham right-back to first team practice

With Pedro Porro out, Ange Postecoglou called up 21-year-old Tottenham right-back to first team practice.

Over the past several weeks, Ange Postecoglou has likely been putting his Tottenham Hotspur players through their paces.

After suffering a 2-1 loss to Wolves at home last time out, Tottenham will have had 14 days to get ready for their match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

After a lackluster showing against Wolves, Postecoglou will be hoping for a better showing from his team.

During the loss, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie’s absences were obviously felt. This week, Udogie resumed full training, but Porro, the first-choice right-back, has not yet recovered.

This season, the Australian has included Tottenham’s youth players in training sessions on a regular basis. Max Robson, a right-back, was observed with the squad yesterday.

Robson practices with the starting Spurs squad before facing Palace.

Robson was observed on Wednesday with the first team in a video that was uploaded to Tottenham’s official YouTube channel.

Before the session began, the 21-year-old shook hands with Richarlison and played a minigame with the first-team players of the Spurs.

Robson has only achieved four starts for the Under-21s this season and has yet to earn his Tottenham debut.

Porro’s backup, Emerson Royal, is already available to Postecoglou; if the Spaniard isn’t healthy, Royal is likely to start.

However, it’s odd to see Robson in the group when Porro isn’t.

Although it doesn’t seem probable that he’ll get a chance this weekend, the “tremendous” young man will surely be keen to make an impression in the days ahead.

Spurs have a crucial game this weekend because they are currently five points out of the top four spots.

Although Villa, who are in fourth place, has a game in hand over Postecoglou’s team, Unai Emery’s team has shown promise lately.
