Thankfully, it appears that the 22-goal pair will not be traveling to St James’ Park

Wolves defeated Brighton 1-0 Friday night to go to the FA Cup quarterfinals, but before their journey to St. James’ Park on Saturday, they lost another important player to injury.

Leading scorer Hwang Hee-chan is almost definitely out due to a hamstring injury he sustained in the second half. In his press conference following the game, Gary O’Neil expressed his surprise if Hwang Hee-chan plays on the weekend. Against Newcastle, the Korean has netted four goals in five games.

The visitors will be without two players who have combined for 22 goals this season: he and co-top scorer Matheus Cunha, who is still sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

Mario Lemina, the midfielder, also took a blow last night, but O’Neil thinks the “kick” will “settle down” in time for their trip to St. James’ Park.

It was a kick, and Mario is OK. It need to become more calm. It’s unfortunate that Channy’s is not playing this game on the weekend. He experienced a slight hamstring strain, nothing like what Neto or Cunha experienced. If he performed on the weekend, I would be shocked.

With four wins and two draws from their past six road games, Wolves have been playing excellently. They defeated Spurs 2-1 on their previous away day, but Hwang and Cunha might deprive them of goals in the attacking department. I’m hoping we can make the most of the fact that Anderson, Barnes, Willock, and Isak are all well again.
