Since making his disastrous blockbuster move to Chelsea, the Germany international’s career has slightly declined.

“Definitely”-Sky pundit believes Spurs could make a “easy” move for star Werner wasn’t able to play the 25+ goals a season they were hoping for when he moved, which led to his return to Leipzig, where he hasn’t been able to duplicate his incredible 2019–2020 season.

In the league alone that year, Werner racked up 28 goals and eight assists, and Liverpool was keenly interested in signing him before Chelsea outperformed Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Werner’s future at Anfield remains uncertain, but following multiple seasons in which he failed to score more than ten goals for Chelsea and Leipzig, the 27-year-old is currently trying to revive his career in north London.

Werner’s contract reportedly includes a £17 million buy-option for Spurs, so this brief stint may be considered a trial run before Ange Postecoglou’s team decides whether to recruit him on a permanent basis.

“I felt he was excellent. He was a little alone in the first half, so it’s likely that we didn’t help him enough in that left channel. Following Spurs’ recent 3-2 victory over Brentford, Postecoglou commented, “We got some better service to him in the second half.”

“He’s a quality player, I think he’s proven at this level, and I think he’ll become even more effective as he gets stronger and fitter and understands our game a little bit better. I also know he has goals in him that will come for Tottenham, so I thought he was good.”

In his five league games for Spurs thus far, Werner has recorded two assists. Of those appearances, four have been as complete starts, while one has been as a substitute.

What the Tottenham employees are actually considering Werner

Reliable reporter Delaney, who has been covering the forward since his arrival from Leipzig, has a fairly intriguing story this week for The Independent.

Werner is reportedly “pleased” with Tottenham staff for his “willingness” behind the scenes, which might be encouraging for the player as he looks to make enough of an impression to be granted an indefinite return to England.

Spurs manager Johan Lange recently stated, “I think Timo [Werner] is an offensive player with a massive amount of experience from top level football.”

“The German national team, as well as the Bundesliga, Premier League, and Champions League.” Additionally, he has played in a style that is not too unlike from ours for the majority of his career, so his degree of adaptation period may not be as long, and it has been encouraging to see him making an impact on games at an early age.
