Every fan should read Carragher’s excellent appraisal of Moyes’ situation, “Time has come.”

David Moyes’s situation at West Ham has been expertly dissected by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who has a good understanding of the situation.

The question of whether David Moyes would agree to a new deal at West Ham is still up for debate.

A portion of the club’s supporters are unhappy with the manager.

The owners of West Ham are thus going to face a significant decision in the upcoming months.

After the loss against Forest, several West Ham supporters raised banners and flags in the air, calling for “Moyes Out.” It was surreal.

Media criticizes supporters while defending Moyes

to roughly the same time last year, the manager arrived to Fulham to find the similar placard greeting him.

In fact, some have claimed that it is the identical banner that has been kept “just in case” in a fan’s drawer.

Because of this, a significant portion of the media portrayed West Ham supporters in a certain way prior to their season-opening victory over Brentford in 2024.

That demonstrates David Moyes’ range of abilities. He moves large football clubs from the bottom half of the standings into positions in Europe, clubs that believe they should be higher. I consider the work he has done to be excellent.

“I do believe there is an issue with the style. Furthermore, I completely understand the viewpoint of West Ham supporters. Because it seems like David Moyes’ brand of football at West Ham is nearly disappearing from the game these days. Better managers than David Moyes have been fired due of their management style. Trophy-winning managers, such as Rafa Benitez, Antonio Conte, and Jose Mourinho, are comparable to the best in this style of play.

“I believe that the Premier League football we’re watching right now is the only way a supporter can accept a team that sits back, plays on the counterattack, and waits for set pieces is a team fighting relegation,” the statement reads. “I accept, understand, and totally relate to the frustration of the West Ham supporters.”

“West Ham is not a team that ought to be considering fighting for relegation at this time. You also brought up the actual spending (£250 million net); this is a squad that has true offensive players. I see the concept of style now.

“I would want to begin with the flag. I believe the banner is completely out of sequence. The European night and the trips they’ve taken—they’re still in Europe, by the way—are some of the best evenings West Ham supporters will ever have. This is a person who has given you the best night you’ve ever had in your 43-year football career. It’s not only about the football either—it’s also about excursions, adventures, memories, and exciting evenings spent with your friends.

“They had the best night since 1980, as I mentioned earlier. Who knows how long it will be until they take home another championship. He deserves far more respect than David Moyes, so forget about the banner. However, I completely understand the fans’ perspective. “We’re going to be on the front foot, we have (Lucas) Paqueta, we have (Mohammed) Kudus, why are we sitting back, why are we accepting not even the biggest teams in the world coming to West Ham and dominating like Brighton or other teams that have come up at different times,” is how they want to view the game when they go.

“I genuinely believe that if they split up, it will be better for everyone. As I’ve mentioned, David Moyes did a fantastic job there. However, I believe that toward the conclusion of the season, if there is dissatisfaction among the audience and Moyes is unsure of their loyalty, you don’t need to wait until October of the next year because at that point, the atmosphere becomes toxic. Although David Moyes has done an amazing job at West Ham, it’s time for him to move on in the summer. He deserves better than that.

“There were clearly banners in the crowd, which makes me think of the Forest game. As a result, I believe he would have been a little nervous about the atmosphere in the stadium before the game.

“It was a big night for David Moyes to win, but win the way they did – score four goals, exciting, Bowen gets the hat-trick, great goal from Emerson.” And while we have made a point of highlighting his excellent work, we also acknowledge that the supporters’ displeasure with the way the game is being played is understandable.

“You play at home, score four goals, win that way—some great goals as well. I believe it was a terrific night for West Ham overall, but more importantly, it was a great night for David Moyes, because you wouldn’t want to go out on a horrible, negative run if he were to go at the end of the season—or stay, who knows. Hopefully, this is the beginning of him and West Ham regaining their form. West Ham is still in a wonderful position where they are in the table.

Without a doubt, David Moyes will occasionally make comments about how well-positioned West Ham is. However, if you look at West Ham’s Premier League history, you will see that they are a team that is frequently in the middle of things and occasionally can be dragged to the bottom. Thus, I believe David Moyes is stating that, for the most part, if West Ham is in the upper half of the standings in the Premier League, the season is going well.

“However, in light of West Ham’s relocation from Upton Park to the 60,000-seat Olympic Stadium, we also discuss the financial outlays and current player caliber. Paqueta, for example, is a player that Manchester City essentially desired to sign in the summer. This is why there may be some disagreement between fans and David Moyes’ statements because, as we discussed with Crystal Palace last week, supporters always want to believe that the team is trying to move forward.

Fans of West Ham are unable to accept that their team is only in the top half. However, under David Moyes, they haven’t only been a top half club—they have also played in Europe.
