Bruno Guimaraes tells Newcastle that his old comrade “would fit in here.”

Raphael Veiga, a former teammate, has been suggested by Bruno Guimaraes to Newcastle United because he “would fit in” well in English football.

During their time together at Athletico-PR in 2018, our midfield maestro shared the pitch with Veiga. Since then, in 260 games for Palmeiras, the attacking midfielder has excelled, tallying 34 assists and 84 goals.

Joelinton’s Autobiography: A New Era for Newcastle United FC

When asked to suggest a player from his native country who may go to the Premier League, he said the following while speaking to ESPN Brasil:

He possesses a terrific set piece, can shoot from a distance, and can take corners efficiently. 2018 saw us united at Athletico-PR.

“If he comes to Europe, I think he could have a very good future.”

Newcastle United has been linked to several young Brazilian and Argentine players over the previous 18 months, indicating that they are actively searching the South American market.

Though it appears we’ll be focusing on up-and-coming talent who might be able to advance rather than 28-year-old Veiga, who hasn’t yet played in Europe.
