Following the Saudi Prince Investment Fund’s (PIF) acquisition of Newcastle United in 2021, the team has made some outstanding acquisitions.

After a productive loan at Fulham, Mitrovic ended his three-year stay at Newcastle with a £9 million profit for the Cottagers, who had paid £22 million for the Serbian.

In 24 league games, he scored 14 goals, a record that piqued the curiosity of teams worldwide. But he made the decision to relocate to Saudi Arabia, where he signed with Al Hilal for a reported £40 million, breaking Fulham’s record transfer fee.
