Erik Edman, a former Tottenham defender, has showered praise on a “magical” young player who has not yet made his Spurs professional debut.

The N17 program has flourished in recent years; just three young players who eventually made it into the first squad are Jamie Donley, Dane Scarlett, and Oliver Skipp.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who has declared that he wants Tottenham to become one of Europe’s top destinations for potential players, places a high value on youth.

Regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of young talent, Postecoglou stated, “It’s what people are seeing” (via The Athletic).

“You can attempt to persuade someone of your idea, but if there is concrete, empirical proof of it… We have goals to be the kind of team we want to be, and everybody who has seen us since I joined has seen this.

We’re really doing that, not just me saying it. Okay, by no means are we the finished product. But we’re providing a chance for younger guys. Three guys in their early 20s who have already had major roles are Destiny, Pape, and Micky.

We’re assembling a group. We find it satisfying, and our goal is to establish ourselves as a team that gifted young players want to play for. There aren’t many undiscovered diamonds because everyone is aware of their abilities. I’ve always believed that your football is, above all things, your greatest selling feature, which hopefully sets us apart. We should be able to demonstrate what is beneficial to us.

Going into January, Tottenham is still connected to a number of young players, including Everton prospect Jarrad Branthwaite and Udinese right-back Festy Ebosele.

Spurs’ attempt to steal Barcelona’s deal to recruit Swedish phenom Lucas Bergvall on a buy-to-loan back deal from Djurgardens IF was possibly their biggest declaration of purpose in recent months. In the end, the 18-year-old opted for north London over Camp Nou, sending a strong message about how popular Tottenham is becoming.

Bergvall gave his reason for picking Spurs over Barcelona, saying that it “felt better in the stomach.”

“Both of them are amazing clubs. Tottenham felt like the next step for me, but it was a very tough decision that was split 50/50 for a very long time. Deciding not to accept Barcelona was a difficult decision that took a long time to make. It was a difficult choice.”

Bergvall is called “magical” by Edman.

Former Spurs defender Edman has showered Bergvall with praise and may have provided fans with an explanation of what to anticipate from the teenager. Bergvall is currently back out on loan at Djurgardens, where he is making an impression.

Edman, via Sport Witness, told SVT, “What an incredible player this can be.” This came after the midfield wizard scored two goals and provided an assist as Djurgarden’s defeated Nordic United 5-0 this past week.

“Hummet’s 3-0 was also magically built up to. Tottenham most likely believes that they are currently satisfied with this agreement.
