Fear that Nottingham Forest’s transfer will not go through might seriously harm the club’s transfer intentions

The Seville press has always kept a close eye on Gonzalo Montiel’s ups and downs at Nottingham Forest, and their attention hasn’t changed with his recent absence.

Some are concerned about the fullback’s future at the team because he hasn’t been included in the Reds’ lineup for the team’s last two Premier League games.

A story on Estadio Deportivo currently states that Montiel’s permanent move to Nottingham Forest may be “put at risk” due to the “rollercoaster” he has lived there.

There is a condition in the loan agreement between the two teams that states the Tricky Trees may have to pay €11 million to acquire Montiel should a certain amount of appearances be met.

According to the report, Sevilla first believed that the target would be easily met and that the club would get a “guaranteed” sum of money. That money was set aside for transfers that were coming in.

The issue is that, albeit given a few opportunities to start this year, Montiel’s solid start at Nottingham Forest appears to have come to an abrupt end.

Due to his ongoing injury recovery, Montiel is not expected to play this weekend. Sevilla is now even more anxious about the issue, and from this point until the end of the season, the local media will be closely monitoring his every move.
