Despite not making many starts, the 23-year-old is expected to continue at Tottenham due to UEFA regulations

Oliver Skipp, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, has had difficulty getting consistent playing time at the north London team this season.

In the Premier League, the 23-year-old midfielder has only started four games, and at this point in his career, he needs to play more. Although Skipp’s ascent to the first team stage was eagerly anticipated, his progress has not transpired as planned.

Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are already playing in his position for Tottenham, so it’s unlikely that the 23-year-old will get a lot of action this year. Rumor has it that he may decide to move on at the end of the current campaign.

But according to UEFA regulations, a team’s 25-man List A roster must include four youth system players who have received club training. The squad size will be lowered appropriately if they are unable to comply.

Players like Harry Kane and Harry Winks have already left Spurs this season. Japhet Tanganga will probably also depart from the team at the end of the current campaign. It is therefore very likely that they will keep Skipp after this summer.

Three Tottenham players, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, and Skipp, are currently eligible to be named in the List A.

Whether they can give him additional playing time the following season will be interesting to see. In the upcoming months, the midfielder undoubtedly hopes to push his way into the starting eleven. Whether he can make an impression on Ange Postecoglou during training and persuade the boss that he merits more chances is still to be seen.
