Makes £70k a week more than Awoniyi: Nottingham Forest is still being drained by the 6′ 1″ idiot, in my opinion

Following their promotion back to the Premier League in May 2022, Nottingham Forest has shown that they can execute a scattergun transfer strategy in the market.

The Reds have added 34 players since winning the play-off final at Wembley. Owner Evangelos Marinakis has spent over £200 million on new players in an effort to transform the team into a competitive Premier League team.

The team has found some real jewels from around the world. Since their promotion, Murillo, Danilo, and Nicolas Dominguez have all joined, and they have all shown to be outstanding value for money. These three might make a sizable profit for the team in the years to come.

However, not every player that Forest has brought in has been a success. Giulian Biancone, who left the team permanently after making just one substitute appearance, and Emmanuel Dennis, who joined the team for fees exceeding £10 million, have both failed to have an impact on Trentside.

Although neither of the two has had much of an impact at Forest, one player seems to have been a total bust since joining the team in the summer transfer window.

The Forest record of Divock Origi

Following yet another hectic transfer window at the City Ground, Forest added 14 new players in an attempt to improve on their 16th-place performance in the 2022–2023 Premier League season.

The team made investments all over the field. To boost the front line, they signed Belgian striker Divock Origi on loan from Serie A team AC Milan. After Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood, Origi is now the third striker for the Reds.

The former Liverpool striker has made 11 appearances for Forest since joining in August, but only two of those appearances have come from the starting line. Against Bournemouth, Origi was substituted after 26 minutes due to Willy Boly’s contentious red card.

The 6-foot-1 moron has not made much of an impression under manager Nuno Espírito Santo at the City Ground, having yet to record a goal or an assist in his tenure.

The amount Nottingham Forest has lost due to Divock Origi

Origi’s contract at the City Ground required the club to pay 100% of his compensation; as a result, Forest is presently paying the Belgian £125,000 per week, the highest salary of any player in the Forest roster.

Due to Origi’s loan move to the City Ground, the club has already paid £3 million in salary. The agreement will have cost the team £6.25 million by the end of the campaign, which is a significant sum for a player who is unlikely to sign a long-term contract.

According to Capology, his £125,000 weekly salary is £40k more than that of the second-highest earner, Felipe, and £70k more than that of current Reds starting striker, Awoniyi. This is an absurd amount considering his current goal return throughout his stay at the club.

Despite Origi’s 22 goals in the Premier League before to this transfer, it has been a complete failure for both teams. Forest lost a significant amount of money on a striker who is only playing 20 minutes a game.

Although the loanee was linked to a possible transfer to the Major League Soccer in January, Forest appeared set to hold onto the expensive forward until the end of the current campaign.
