“Now”: After consulting with “people within” West Ham, the former employee of WHU provides a “clear” update on Moyes

As pressure mounts on manager David Moyes, a dependable source on West Ham matters, ExWHUemployee, has provided an update.

Moyes objects as West Ham’s performance declines

Never having won a game in 2024 and having an expiring contract in the summer, Moyes’s future as the head coach of the Hammers has never looked more uncertain.

Steidten’s position on firing Moyes is evident as West Ham considers hiring a 3-4-2-1 coach.

Moyes came out swinging to defend his record and everything he’s accomplished at the club to date following their most recent setback, a 2-0 loss away to Nottingham Forest last weekend, despite cries from some members of the fan base for his dismissal.

It’s difficult to argue that there haven’t been many better moments at West Ham, but we can never win over everyone, Moyes stated.

“I believe the supporters will genuinely have to admit that, in terms of taking home a Conference League trophy and league standings, this is the best moment they’ve ever had at the team. There can be managers who pique their interest more. However, the person seated here benefits more.

The team’s nearly 40-year drought for a significant trophy came to an end in May of last year when they won the Europa Conference League; in each of Moyes’ full seasons in command, West Ham also qualified for Europe.

But Moyes’ rigid style of play has drawn criticism, and West Ham hasn’t had a strong league record since the summer of 2022. Throughout 2022 and 2023, they even had a brief flirtation with relegation, and many supporters thought Moyes had led them as far as possible.

A change could be made at the end of this season, or possibly even before, as his contract is scheduled to expire this summer. Moyes’ contract was going to be extended by West Ham, but those negotiations appear to have been put on hold.

This week, ExWHUemployee provided a new update on the situation, and it’s a rather fascinating one.

Moyes will have “at least” until their Europa League last 16 match, according to Ex via the West Ham Way, to turn things around, although the board is extremely worried.

“I’ve talked to people at the club, and it’s obvious they’re really worried,” Ex said.

With the general consensus that the team is now playing like a relegation squad, there are concerns about the manager.

“At this point, they are hoping that Moyes can turn things around; as it stands, I believe he’ll be handed the Europa League last-16 tie at the very least. The current position is that there isn’t another manager ready and available to step in.

“A significant section of the fan base’s sentiments are known to the board. They have emphasized that they are assessing the matter, but for the time being they think Moyes still has the support of the players and staff.

They seem to be sticking with Moyes in the near future in the hopes that things would work out better. Though options are now being considered, preparations are in place in case they decide to fire the management.
