“Impatient” | Report | Hammers Technical Director requests position modification

According to a Guardian story published earlier this week, West Ham may face pressure to persuade technical director Tim Steidten to remain with the team after the current campaign ends.

A handful of Hammers players are reportedly “Unenthused” with manager David Moyes’ cautious approach to football, according to the same source.

Tim Steidten, who held a comparable position at Bayer Leverkusen, moved to West Ham as the team’s technical director last summer.

The German joined West Ham, and the team released a statement stating that he would work closely with sporting director Mark Noble and David Moyes to oversee the “overarching player recruitment strategy and scouting department.”

As soon as the team signed Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, James Ward Prowse, and Konstantinos Mavropanos, Steidten was credited for his assistance. However, there are rumors that Steidten is dissatisfied in East London.

Recently, there have been rumors that he would become a technical director at Liverpool. According to sources cited by The Guardian, he feels underpowered and is dissatisfied with the way the Hammers perform.

The article continues, though, by stating that the German is reportedly in favor of hiring a new manager and that if he were to take the lead in the Hammers’ prospective search for a new manager, his perspective may alter.

Due to West Ham’s recent poor performance—the team has lost eight straight games across all competitions—many questions have been raised over David Moyes’s future as manager of West Ham United.

According to an article published in The Guardian on Monday, several West Ham players are reportedly not impressed by David Moyes’ cautious approach to the game. If this is accurate, it would imply that the players do not agree with the message being given to them or the manner in which they are expected to play the game.

With 13 games remaining in the Premier League and the Europa League round of 16 still to come, Moyes is in serious need of some points in the Hammers’ upcoming schedule to turn around the club’s season.

If West Ham is to reverse their current form and their dismal start to 2024 thus far, he will require the complete support of his playing staff.
