“No explanation”: Alasdair Gold claims Ange Postecoglou needs to address a problem at Tottenham within the next two weeks

One of the major problems Ange Postecoglou is having with his Tottenham Hotspur players is being discussed by journalist Alasdair Gold.

Postecoglou does now have some time to address a few issues because Spurs’ next game is at home against Crystal Palace on March 2.

Tottenham had a mixed month in February, and in the end, it seemed as though the loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers was inevitable.

Maybe Postecoglou’s team was lucky to win both their home matches against Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion, two matches they still had the will to win.

But according to Alasdair Gold, the Tottenham manager might have been let down by one or two instances.

During his interview on the “Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast,” the journalist expressed her belief that Postecoglou should supervise a genuine shift in mindset during these two weeks off.

Gold expressed extreme frustration with the Spurs players’ pressuring of Wolves in particular and said that Ange should just bench everybody who wasn’t giving it their all.

Alasdair Gold believes that Ange Postecoglou must change his Tottenham players’ mindset.

During his podcast interview, Gold expressed his belief that a shift in mindset was necessary, something far more significant than little inconveniences.

“I believe that will be Ange’s main issue to address in these two weeks, more so than even the technical stuff,” he stated.

“It’s the attitude shift; he shouldn’t accept that in any form whatsoever; there’s no justification for it, and there shouldn’t be any fatigue—they’re just playing a game once a week.

“They now have a stronger squad, which means that, quite honestly, whomever you are, if you’re not performing at your best and providing all you’ve got in terms of pressing, aggression, dynamism, and movement on the field, I’m sorry, get off the team.

“And preventing that complacency from setting in is the main goal of the team’s competition.”

Although some Tottenham supporters might concur with Gold’s remarks, it doesn’t appear that Postecoglou’s message is being upheld for the whole 90 minutes at this time.

Not that things won’t get better; rather, it’s possible that this is the first major setback of this new age, and since the outcomes haven’t been that bad, it could be worse.

Positively speaking, though, Tottenham supporters will be thrilled to learn how well Lucas Bergvall performed this week in Sweden.
