Today, Jacob Steinberg provides a fresh update on Moyes’s sacking from West Ham

Following the team’s 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, West Ham United has decided not to fire David Moyes at this time, according to Jacob Steinberg.

The Guardian journalist adds, via his personal Twitter account on February 17, that the club has decided against making any “panic decisions,” and that the manager is not expected to lose his job in light of the latest outcome.

The manager’s contract is set to expire in the summer, but no decision has been taken as of yet. Steinberg acknowledged that, given the team’s performance and the fact that the away fans have now turned against him, it is “unlikely” that he will receive a new contract offer.

It is inappropriate for the West Ham board to retain Moyes.

What must occur at the London Stadium before the West Ham board decides that Moyes must be fired immediately?

After the game at the City Ground, the away fans indicated they were expecting a loss by holding up “Moyes Out” banners and singing songs criticizing his bad decisions and performance.

The fact that Moyes is attempting to repair the manager-fan relationship by using words rather than actions in public also doesn’t help the situation.

Updates regarding David Moyes’s situation as West Ham United’s manager have been provided by Jacob Steinberg.

West Ham has a great opportunity to advance, but in order to do so, they need a more forward-thinking manager who will allow them to be more daring in their team choices and strategies in an effort to turn negative outcomes into favorable ones.

Moyes has done everything he can to elevate this team, and the longer he stays, the more tarnished his reputation will be. The sooner the board realizes that Moyes needs to go, the better. It will be a serious error if he stays at the club after the summer.
