Even though the January transfer market is still open, one of Newcastle United’s Premier League opponents is already planning their season ahead of time.

Brentford isn’t hanging around, even though it’s still unknown who will be in charge at St. James’ Park in light of Dan Ashworth’s possible transfer to Manchester United.

Ivan Toney, who was recently reinstated from suspension, has been playing well ever since. In just four outings this season, the 27-year-old has already scored three goals.

The fact that he has continued where he left off will further fuel rumors that he may depart Brentford this summer.

And in case that happens, the Bees are already ready.

Brentford announces agreement to sign a replacement for Ivan Toney

Brentford made a future signing announcement on Wednesday night.

They stated that they and Club Brugge have reached an agreement for Igor Thiago to be signed. They are reportedly going to have to pay £30 million for this club record contract.

The 22-year-old forward Thiago is having an incredible season. In his 40 Club Brugge appearances thus far, he has four assists in addition to 26 goals.

Brentford will be hoping that he can duplicate his amazing total of 30 goal contributions in 40 appearances in the Premier League the following season.

Good news for fans of Newcastle United and other potential suitors of Toney: Thomas Frank’s team is obviously well-prepared and has a replacement for Toney lined up before he even secures a departure.

Although Brentford will have a lot of shoes to fill, they will be happy that this was completed well in advance.

Newcastle United may benefit from Toney leaving in the summer as a result of Thiago’s arrival.

When the summer transfer window opens, the Magpies will be looking to add a new forward, and it has been rumored that they are considering Toney.

Steve Nickson, Newcastle’s head of recruitment, has a lot of love for the England international, so it will be intriguing to see whether he tries to entice Toney back to Tyneside.

There will be fierce competition for him, and it is improbable that Toney will go back to Newcastle. However, it feels fairly certain that they will leave Brentford, especially with the addition of Thiago by the Bees.
