View: Tottenham is concerned since the 100% defender is missing from the pre-Wolves training video

Tottenham’s left-back On Wednesday, February 14, the squad uploaded video from their first-team practice, but Destiny Udogie was nowhere to be seen.

This season, Udogie has been Ange Postecoglou’s star player, securing the left-back position as his own.

He has only missed three Premier League games this season, two of them because of suspension. On Friday, October 27, he was unable to play due to a muscle injury, therefore he was not present for Crystal Palace’s 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park.

However, with Tottenham scheduled to meet Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, February 17, there is now some reason for supporters to be concerned about Udogie’s injury status.

In the 80th minute of Spurs’ most recent 2-1 home victory over Brighton on February 10, Udogie was substituted.

When asked if there were any new injury worries from the game after it ended, Postecoglou said, “No, I don’t think so,” according to Football London (February 10). I don’t know if Destiny’s outburst was caused by a cramp, but everyone else seemed to be fine.

Although the Australian first sounded upbeat, the video that Spurs uploaded to their official X account on Wednesday, February 14th, probably didn’t allay fans’ worries.

The first-team players at Hotspur Way are shown in the nearly five-minute film getting ready for Gary O’Neil’s team’s arrival this weekend, although Udogie is not in sight.

Tottenham supporters have every right to be concerned.

It’s difficult to hold Spurs supporters accountable if they felt a little nervous about Udogie missing out on Saturday’s action.

It would be difficult to replace the Italy international after his impressive achievements this season.

He was strong defensively against Brighton, winning five of his nine ground duels and making three tackles, completing 100% of his dribbles going forward (Sofascore).

The fact that the 21-year-old’s performance was possibly among his least strong of the year shows how high the bar he has set at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Postecoglou’s aggressive style is supported by his two goals and three assists in the Premier League. On Wednesday, January 31, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he equalized against Brentford to help Spurs win 3-2. It was his most recent goal.

In his first season of playing English football, it is reasonable to say that Udogie has been among the top left-backs in the Premier League this year.

He has demonstrated skill in both the attacking and defensive phases of the game, according to fbref, as evidenced by his ranking in the top 8% of positional peers in England’s top flight for both the number of tackles (3.07 per 90) and the number of touches (3.07 per 90) in the attacking penalty area this season.

He has also shown promise when it comes to ball handling, being in the top 7% of Premier League left-backs in terms of carries into the penalty area (0.82 per 90) and the top 4% in terms of carries into the final third (2.50 per 90).

Tottenham

In his first season at Tottenham, Udogie has demonstrated a great deal of promise.

Spurs’ hopes of earning three more points will be severely harmed if he is ruled out of the match against Wolves. Spurs fans will be hoping that his absence from the video on Wednesday is really an unfortunate accident.

In other Tottenham news, the team is expected to receive a multi-million dollar payment after Daniel Levy executed yet another masterpiece.
