Spurs dominate gate income as Manchester United breaks the UEFA record for transfers.

The record for the most expensively assembled football team in football history has been surpassed by Manchester United.

According to a UEFA report, United surpassed Real Madrid’s record of £1.21 billion in transfer fees at the end of the 2023 fiscal year.

That expenditure does not include the purchases made last summer of Rasmus Hojlund (£72 million) and Mason Mount (£55 million), but rather the additions of Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, and Antony, all of whom cost more than £70 million.

Only once this season has Antony scored for Erik ten Hag’s team—away in the FA Cup against Newport—while Sancho, who had a falling out with the United manager, has returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea are the other three teams with rosters that have cost more than €1 billion in transfers.

It is anticipated that Chelsea would top the list in the next cute photos.

This is true even though Chelsea’s records only extend to June 2022, meaning that the astounding £850 million that has been spent since then has not yet been tallied.

Chelsea struggled to qualify for Europe last season despite their massive expenditure since Todd Boehly moved to west London, and they are still far behind the pack this year, sitting in 10th place in the Premier League.

In terms of spending, Liverpool ($774 million) and Arsenal ($761 million) were sixth and seventh, respectively, while Tottenham came in ninth. West Ham, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are the other English teams in the top 20.

While Premier League teams spend a disproportionate amount on transfers, Barcelona is the team with the highest pay bill, surpassing even PSG. Real Madrid and Liverpool are Behind City in third place.
