Report: Spurs make an incredible offer for the 26-year-old, who has 16 goals and 21 assists.

Tottenham Hotspur is still active in the market and has already made an offer for one of their preferred players, even though the winter transfer season has just closed.

Unexpectedly, it was revealed that Spurs had submitted a bid for Frenkie de Jong, the outstanding midfield player for Barcelona.

According to sources from Jijantes, a publication run by renowned Spanish writer Gerard Romero, the Catalan team has been presented with a four-year contract proposal for the central midfield player, coupled with an offer from the Lilywhites for approximately €60 million, including add-ons.

De Jong will receive a wage in North London that is comparable to his at Barca, provided he meets certain goals.

Many were taken aback by the announcement, since Tottenham was thought to be the Premier League team least likely to pursue the Dutchman.

The 26-year-old’s deal with Blaugranas, which is set to end on June 30, 2026, still has more than two years left on it.

For a hefty €86 million transfer price in the summer of 2019, Barcelona acquired De Jong from Ajax. The player relocated to Camp Nou despite bids from Manchester United, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.

He has been a reliable member of the La Liga team ever since his debut, appearing in 206 games for Barca in all competitions and chipping in with 16 goals and 21 assists.

Spurs’ recent transfer activity has been unpredictable, as demonstrated by their signing of the teenage Swedish phenom Lucas Bergvall on deadline day last month—inexplicably, ahead of Blaugranas.

Says TBH:

Although we are unsure of the veracity of these rumors, he would undoubtedly be a major addition to the team.
