Disappointed’… Daniel Farke admits one Leeds United player was not happy despite 4-0 win last night

Daniel Farke has shared his assessment after Leeds United’s 4-0 win over Swansea City last night.

The Whites eased to one of their best wins of the season in South Wales by scoring two goals inside the opening 10 minutes through Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe.

Willy Gnonto then rounded off proceedings with two well taken finishes either side of half-time, helping Leeds move up to second for the first time this season after Southampton’s defeat at Bristol City.

Leeds’ attack were once again scintillating last night but the only one who was unable to register either a goal or assist was Georginio Rutter, despite another impressive performance.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Farke admitted that Rutter was ‘disappointed’ to come off having not got on the scoresheet himself, but was thinking about the bigger picture.

Farke explains Rutter disappointment

“Quite similar to Patrick. Georgi was outstanding in the last game. Won the ball back for the first goal. Works so much for the team. Also in good positions to score. If you are then subbed without scoring, there are more goals there, you want to be involved.

“Have to think about the bigger picture. Schedule is relentless at the moment. Georgi disappointed, but I have to take that decision. Already happy in the dressing room.”

It is understandable that Rutter was frustrated to be substituted with 15 minutes to play as an attacker, but Leeds need him fit and firing over a busy next few weeks.

Leeds lost Patrick Bamford to injury in the warm up and can ill afford to lose Rutter for any period of time, so it was sensible management by Farke to rest the legs of a number of key players.

Rutter can still take pride for the way he performed during his time on the pitch and hopefully he can replicate that away at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
