Report: The opinions of various Tottenham players about Todd Kline’s resignation

Todd Kline will now join London rivals Chelsea after leaving his position as Tottenham Hotspur’s business director. Sources close to Tottenham, nevertheless, claim the team won’t “lose any sleep” over Kline’s exit.

Todd Kline joined Tottenham in 2021 and was principally responsible for securing a large sponsorship agreement for the naming rights of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That still hasn’t occurred, and the venue is still going by its original name, nearly three years later.

It appears that Kline’s time with the Lilywhites was coming to an end, as the Daily Mail suggests that the “writing was on the wall” for some time now. The club has had a lot of changes in the last year, both on and off the field.

Kline was originally put on gardening leave by Tottenham, but it has since been made public that he is leaving the city to accept a job with Chelsea, where he will report to Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.

Spurs’ response to the news has been clarified by the Daily Mail story, and it appears that, despite the fact that it may have come as a bit of a surprise, the team is not exactly going into panic mode over this departure.

Insiders at Tottenham Hotspur claim that Kline’s decision to switch allegiance was “surprise,” but they also think that very few players will “lose any sleep” over it.

Kline’s main goal was obviously not accomplished, so there’s really no need for him to be at the club in the first place. I believe Spurs are now really considering abandoning the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in its current state and giving up on the notion of obtaining a sponsor altogether.
