Stan Collymore has given his verdict on the future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The former Liverpool striker has noted which club Rashford should join if he left United – Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

So, what has Stan Collymore said about Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Marcus Rashford? Let’s take a look.

Marcus Rashford told to join Tottenham Hotspur, not Arsenal

Well, Stan Collymore has been speaking about Marcus Rashford. The former Liverpool striker has suggested that the forward may need to leave Manchester United to get his back career back on track.

The pundit has said that while Arsenal may be the ideal fit for the forward, it is at the Gunners’ North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur where the 26-year-old England international forward would flourish.

Rashford has not been at his best this season. One pundit believes that United should sell him.

The forward, who has had off-pitch issues recently, has made 17 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League. He has scored five goals and given two assists in those games.

The Englishman scored 17 goals and gave five assists in 32 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils last season.

Collymore wrote about Rashford in CaughtOffSide: “In terms of what club he should go and play for, I know there has been a lot of chatter about Arsenal, and they may well be the ideal fit for him, but for me, it’s really simple — Rashford needs to be at a club where the manager is stable and not going anywhere anytime soon.

“He needs a manager, who has a lot of control at a club, spends some quality time with him and get inside his head to figure out exactly how to get the best out of him. If he can find that in Mikel Arteta, so be it but I actually think Ange Postecoglou would do wonders for him.

“Postecoglou would say to Rashford ‘mate, there’s no pressure, just go out and attack like you did when you were a kid’. He would take the weight of the world off his shoulders and probably help him rediscover his love for the game.

“Let’s be honest as well, I know fans are quick to take the mick but Spurs are a massive club, and there’s no doubt about it, they are heading in the right direction again. So come on then, Rashford to Spurs, who says no?”

In my opinion, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is unlikely to move to Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal in the summer of 2024.

I do not think that the finances involved in a potential deal would make sense for either Arsenal or Tottenham to make it happen.

Rashford is earning £300,000 per week (Spotrac) at the moment. The England international forward is under contract at United until the summer of 2028.

United are arguably the biggest club in England, and Rashford is a star player for them. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners would demand an astronomical fee for the 26-year-old, which, I think, Arsenal or Tottenham would not be willing to pay.
