“It doesn’t seem like he’s embracing,” Cascarino says, criticizing the Tottenham player for his limited range of motion.

After Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham in the summer, several players, especially the attacking ones, flourished.

There is nothing better as an attacker than the former Celtics player, who demands to play at 100 miles per hour and on the front foot.

Brennan Johnson, though, has had inconsistent results, as seen by Tottenham’s FA Cup loss to Manchester City.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Tony Cascarino criticized the 22-year-old, saying that it “doesn’t look like he is embracing” his price tag.

Brennan Johnson was acquired by Tottenham for £47.5 million from Nottingham Forest, and under Ange Postecoglou, he started playing every game right away.

Tony Cascarino believes that he is doing the “simple things” rather than taking chances, even with the enormous price tag on his head.

The dynamic forward isn’t doing well—he has only one Premier League goal and four assists since joining—and this was evident in his team’s FA Cup loss to Manchester City.

Brennan Johnson in the last three minutes

Cascarino stated, “I want to highlight two players. Let me start with Brennan Johnson.”

“Clearly, he made a significant move. Even at 22, he is a youthful man. An international player from Wales, he occasionally displays lightning-fast speed.

“He had absolutely no intention of taking on Gvardiol in the FA Cup.” It seemed like he would always understand and would just take the easy route, seizing no opportunities. In 25 appearances this season, he has scored just one. I am aware that he has been in and out of the side.

“It doesn’t appear that he is accepting that Tottenham paid an odd £40 million for him, and they should have expected much more from him. He should be more direct because he moves quickly.

With Brennan Johnson, use patience

The player needs this exposure, and it should be remembered that this is only his second full season in the Premier League.

Sometimes he’s killing himself over that final ball or decision-making. He is doing the most of the rest correctly.

Long-term, this shouldn’t be a reason for concern because this is where Postecoglou and his coaching team can be trusted.

And he will be a player that hurts the opposition all over the pitch once his final third performance improves.
