Since joining Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa, the £13 million star acknowledges that this is the “happiest” time he has been at the team.

Junior Firpo shone once more for Leeds United on Wednesday, helping the Whites defeat Norwich City 1-0 to record their fifth straight victory. Firpo acknowledges that this is the happiest he has been since arriving.

After entering the team against Birmingham City, the 27-year-old has started each of the following five games, all of which Leeds has won. Firpo has contributed significantly, providing an astounding four assists within that period.

On Wednesday night, Firpo was outstanding once more and would have received a fifth assist if Patrick Bamford’s attempt at an overhead kick had found its way into the net. He’s definitely beginning to display some amazing form.

The kind of performance Leeds, under Marcelo Bielsa, may have dreamed of when they paid £13 million to buy him from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. Not only at Elland Road, but elsewhere, his form has been noticed as well.

Real Sociedad, a team competing in the Champions League knockout stages, had looked at it. Instead, they signed Javi Galan. Firpo claimed to be the happy he has been since joining in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds.

I am the happiest he has ever been at Leeds, so yeah, definitely. When I recorded the podcast at Leeds a few months ago, I informed him that everything was different for someone coming from another country, including injuries and playing in and out of games.

“Fans’ criticism can undermine your self-confidence. However, it helps that we have a pretty solid team that consists of people as well as footballers. After the victory versus Norwich, Firpo declared, “This is the happiest I’ve been here.”

Junior Firpo claims that this is his happiest time at Leeds United.

Firpo has had a challenging few of years. Two and a half years and just 61 games for Leeds. The former Barcelona player has not performed at his peak level due to injury and a lack of momentum.

But Daniel Farke does appear to be getting the finest performance out of him at the moment. With his attacking style of football, Firpo is able to utilize his abilities. Even though it’s just the Championship, there are encouraging indicators.
