David Ornstein claims he was informed three Newcastle players are untouchable and was “immediately pushed away.”

This month, there has been a lot of discussion around Newcastle selling players.

If the Magpies are to have a summer of expenditure, they must balance the books in terms of FFP, which might require some high-profile departures.

Some have speculated that Newcastle would have to offload one of its finest players soon, but David Ornstein said on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast that this is most likely not the case.

Ornstein claims that although Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes, and Alexander Isak have all been mentioned in the media as players who may depart, he has been quickly dissuaded from the notion that any of those three will be leaving the team anytime soon once he has completed his due diligence.

Bruno, Botman, and Isak refuse to go

Ornstein discussed what he had learned of St. James’ Park’s possible outgoings.

“In the football world, there’s a rumor that Newcastle will be selling, and whether it happens in January or the summer, there will need to be a big transaction. Following that, there were rumors that it would be one of the big names, such as Botman, Guimaraes, or Alexander Isak. However, I was quickly dissuaded from considering those players because those are the ones Newcastle wants to retain and develop with, Ornstein stated.

Comfort

Even though Newcastle is now having difficulty making purchases, its long-term objective is still to dominate the Premier League, and in order to do so, they must continue to retain their core players.

Unquestionably, the Magpies’ three most valuable assets are Isak, Bruno, and Botman. These three will be essential if Newcastle is to succeed in the years to come.

Spending issues are undoubtedly being caused by FFP, but even with an infinite money, Newcastle would likely struggle to recruit any players who would be an improvement over these three.

It is a great relief that these trio will remain.
