“Had two days with us,” the Plymouth manager says of Alfie Devine, a Tottenham loanee, and his first-ever performance

Ian Foster, the manager of Plymouth Argyle, has given his assessment on Alfie Devine’s performance during the young player from Tottenham Hotspur’s debut for the Championship team on Saturday.

Alfie Devine entered the game immediately for the Pilgrims against Cardiff City at Home Park. After spending the first part of the season on loan at Port Vale, the 19-year-old joined Foster’s team for the remainder of the campaign.

Of course, Ashley Phillips’ arrival earlier in the window gave Tottenham supporters even more incentive to keep a watch on Plymouth’s performance. The center back has already had a significant impact.

After making his Plymouth debut, Alfie Devine was complimented, and he’s off to a fantastic start. Plymouth defeated Cardiff City 3-1. And one of the assists came from the teenage Tottenham player.

Speaking on the team’s official website, Foster admitted that he was impressed by Devine’s and Adam Forshaw’s performances. Forshaw also signed with the team throughout the week.

Foster remarked, “They’ve done incredibly well considering they only had two days.” “After spending two days and one day with us, respectively, Alfie and Adam have learned a tremendous amount.

Since Alfie has performed for me before, it might be simpler for him, but Adam hasn’t. Yesterday afternoon, I spent a few hours with Adam discussing our preferred style of play. It is incredibly nice to see them both perform as well as they did.

A young Tottenham player wants to communicate with Ange Postecoglou

It will be intriguing to observe Devine’s progress in the upcoming months of the season. In League One, he excelled. However, it will be extremely difficult to advance to the Championship with a new team halfway through the season.

He is getting off to a great start. Whoscored claims that in the victory versus the Bluebirds, Devine also made three crucial passes. On either side, only Ryan Hardie accomplished more.

Devine and Phillips will undoubtedly send a message to Ange Postecoglou ahead of the summer if they can both make an impression while at Home Park.

It’s likely that they could not have asked for a better beginning.
