Il Resto Del Carlino said on Tuesday that one of the teams inquiring about Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori is Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London club, who can play both left and center back, is still considering Calafiori after adding Radu Drăgușin to their roster last week to bolster their defense.
According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Tottenham has reportedly had “contacts with” the 21-year-old.
Spurs aren’t the only team vying for the Italy U21 international; Inter Milan, Juventus, Milan, and Napoli have also expressed interest. His future is still up for discussion because it also hinges on where the Serie A team—currently ranked seventh—ends up in the standings this year.
No mention of Tottenham or any other team expressing interest in the adaptable defender is made by La Repubblica.
Bologna is reportedly trying to add individuals to its roster in the winter transfer window who could eventually take the place of some of their stars.
Calafiori falls into the latter group, and the report indicates that elite teams will probably launch a summertime “assault” for him.
