Oliver Skipp, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, is allegedly not talented enough to play for a top-four team, according to Tim Sherwood.

Last night, Spurs defeated Nottingham Forest with great ease. Although Ange Postecoglou’s team was superior and well deserved the three points, they are currently in a challenging situation due to Yves Bissouma’s red card. Sherwood believes Skipp isn’t qualified to take his post.

Oliver Skipp of Tottenham, according to Tim Sherwood, is “not up to the level.”

After receiving a red card last night, Yves Bissouma will now miss four games for Tottenham.

The Mali international might not play for Spurs until the beginning of February since he will then travel to play in the African Cup of Nations.

The only players available to start alongside Pape Matar Sarr in midfield are Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp, as Rodrigo Bentancur is also sidelined due to injury. This leaves Tottenham lacking options in the middle of the pitch.

According to Sherwood, Skipp is not good enough to play for a Premier League team in the top four.

Sherwood stated on Premier League Productions in reference to Bissouma’s red card: “They need him.” They are hurt.

Bentancur is now sidelined due to injury. Skipp is most likely not currently capable of competing with the league’s top five players. The boss does not particularly like Hojbjerg.

Skipp is capable of helping Tottenham.

Even if Oliver Skipp, 23, is not as good as Rodrigo Bentancur or Yves Bissouma, he can still function in the middle of the park.

Ange Postecoglou has made some rather reliable midfield decisions. His chosen one beside him is Pape Matar Sarr, although Bissouma has been his main man.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will likely be the one to replace Bissouma in the coming weeks, but we really think Skipp deserves an opportunity.

The 23-year-old showed real promise whenever he played under Antonio Conte. He has all the qualities to be a top midfielder and if he gets a chance in the coming games, we’re convinced he will impress.
