Son Heung-min, a star for Tottenham Hotspur, provided an update on his injury after hobbling off the field during last night’s loss to West Ham United.

Yesterday’s loss was Spurs’ fourth in the previous five games. They are now nine points behind league leaders Arsenal in fifth place in the standings, having not won a single game in the Premier League since the end of October. It was worrisome to see my son hobbling off last night.

Son Heung-min, a star for Tottenham, updates injuries

Being injured is the last thing Spurs supporters want to see happen to one of their best players, Son Heung-min.

Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Ange Postecoglou are already absentees.

Tottenham has missed Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Manor Solomon, among others, a great deal, as evidenced by their last five performances under Ange Postecoglou.

Because of this, it was extremely concerning to watch Son hobbling around the field for a short while before being replaced late in last night’s match against the Hammers.

Even after he sat on the Tottenham bench, he appeared to have been the victim of a painful challenge to his back and was obviously in pain.

Fortunately for Spurs supporters, Son has provided a positive update on his injury, indicating that it doesn’t appear to be serious.

He told The Mirror’s Ryan Taylor in the mixed zone after the game: “No, I’m okay. I’m okay. Let’s see.”

Tottenham can’t afford to lose Son

After picking up just one point out of a possible 15 from their last five games, Tottenham need to bounce back as quickly as possible.

Cristian Romero’s return is a real positive, but the last thing they need is an injury to their skipper, Son.

The South Korean is their best player right now. He has filled the void Harry Kane left up front as well as he can, and if his knock turns out to be a serious injury, Tottenham will have to rely on Richarlison to score goals.

That could really cost them in the coming months, but Son’s words are really positive, and Spurs fans will be hoping he will be fit for the game against Newcastle United on Sunday.
